When the plans you’ve made learn how to fly

The beginning of the year is always tough. We start it off with more enthusiasm than we naturally have energy for, so it doesn’t take long before we run dry and feel like we’ve already failed. In fact, it takes until… Right about now.

Blue Monday is tomorrow. Third Monday in January. The most depressing day of the year.

But — Aquarius Season starts today, and it comes with not just the fresh wind under our wings that we so need right now; it also brings an abundance of opportunities for new beginnings AND the energy to sustain them.

New Beginnings in Aquarius Season

First, we have the Human Design New Year on February 21^st, when the Sun enters the 41^st Gate (or Gene Key), and our Dreams and Vision make contact with the material world.

The New Moon in Aquarius, the first of 2025, begins a Lunar New Year on February 29^th. The year of the Wood Snake.

Snake stands for Wisdom, intuition, mystery and transformation. She sheds the old skin to welcome the new.
Wood represents growth, creativity and flexibility, but also renewal.
Transformation and renewal. I love this for a new beginning!

Then there’s Imbolc, the ancient pagan tradition that celebrates the birth of the Sun, and with it, the beginning of Spring. Yes, Spring! It might not be obvious yet, but yesterday, I found the first primrose under at thin layer of snow. The awakening has begun.

As a midway point between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox, Imbolc is usually celebrated on February 1^st, though the exact date may vary.

So there you have it, three important new beginnings, followed by a bright, shiny culmination of the Full Moon in Leo that occurs on February 13^th. Leo loves to shine its light. Full Moon loves to shine her light. It feels like a celebration!

All in all?

The airy, quick, future-focused energy of Aquarius is just what we year for after the long, slow season of foundation-building under Capricorn. Now, we finally get to put something real on those invisible foundations.

Now, we finally get to fly again!
